About Me

I'm Jens Kristian Espevik, a full-stack developer and consultant at Accenture, based in Trondheim, Norway.

Right now I'm building an enterprise B2B portal for a telecom customer. It's meant to be the landing page for all of their enterprise portals. I've worked across the whole stack on this one: setting up auth with OIDC, building React components from Figma designs, writing GraphQL APIs on AWS Lambda to surface product data, and standing up the infrastructure with Terraform. I also built a custom feedback tool I called Feedback2Slack, and recently we integrated Medallia for more structured customer feedback.

I actually started out studying psychology. The plan was to become a psychologist, but after two years of chasing insane grade requirements I pivoted to computer science at NTNU. I'm happy with how it turned out, and I think the psychology foundation makes me a better consultant, hehe.

Before the consulting work I did IT operations and service desk. That kind of work changes how you think about building systems. You start caring a lot more about whether the people maintaining them can actually work with what you've built.

Outside of work I like being creative with technology. I built my own home automation system instead of using Home Assistant, because AI tooling made it possible to create something tightly suited to my setup. I also nerd out on Claude Code and local LLMs. Checking the Claude Code changelog is part of my daily ritual. I like producing music too, but that's on a bit of a hiatus now that I'm a small-child dad and long uninterrupted stretches are scarce. I also love reading fantasy books.

This blog is my testing ground for AI development tools. I originally set it up with the Astro scaffolding script back at version 2 or 3, then used GitHub Copilot to move it beyond the default template. These days it's fully Claude Code. I use it to test plugins from the Anthropic marketplace and experimental features like agentic teams.
